Week notes #11
Hi all! Weeknotes is back to a more regular schedule this week and I will start posting it in the #skylark channel. As you’ll imagine we had a very eventful week leading up to the launch and are still working through messages and emails. Thanks to all who have reached out so far. We have been fixing bugs as they come in and are very grateful for all the collective eyes we have on this. As always, if you spot anything on the website that doesn’t look right or doesn’t make sense please let us know https://www.wikihouse.cc/feedback (of course you can always DM me but more people check the feedback inbox than just me so we’ll see it sooner that way)
We are currently working on illustrating the guides- they are going to look so much better once we include images, so bear with us, it’s on our list to do ASAP. The calculator in the Design Kit is on our list too, it should be online soon. This week we have also been going through applications from on-demand providers to join our UK network of architects, manufacturers, installers and engineers. Interested in being listed? https://www.wikihouse.cc/providers
More testing has been taking place at the University of Edinburgh, investigating the capacity of WikiHouse facade panels in withstanding wind negative pressure (see pic below). Preliminary results are very encouraging, with capacity greater than 4 kN/m^2.
So, after our real life launch event in London (video available hopefully soon, we had some tech issues but we are sorting that), we are turning our attention to our online event for you all.
So please put the 17 March in your diaries. This is still a few weeks away so will give you the chance to get a bit more familiar with the system and then come to us with all your questions. We want the session to be very interactive and as many people as possible to be able to attend so I am running a poll (see below) to try to find a time to suit most people (remember we are across many time zones). Who’s up for it? Oh and we will record it anyway, so don't worry if you can't make it!
[These weeknotes started in late 2021 in the lead up to the release of WikiHouse Skylark, as a weekly update for our WikiHouse Slack community. Follow the link to find out more about the community and how to join.]
