Week notes #24
Skylark hackathon
Our latest hackathon took place last Wednesday at the amazing Here East* in London, hosted with our friends at Hawkins Brown. It was a brilliant day with over 40 people taking part for the full day. Attendees with a range of skills (software developers, architects, engineers and students) got together in 8 teams and engaged with the themes of:
Scaling up supply chains
Improving performance
Measuring performance + impact
Reducing material
Making assembly easier
Making Skylark easier to design with
Growing the library
At the end of the day we had presentations from all teams and a vote - the idea that received the most votes was WikiScraps: a way of recycling Skylark waste offcuts from plywood sheets to turn them to furniture. Imagine receiving a birdhouse, shoe rack, table. etc along with your chassis!
We are waiting for all presentations to be submitted by the teams and then we’ll share them with everyone.
