Week notes #39
Our final event of 2022
We’ve had a great run of events this year and we would love to have you at our final one for 2022 with our friends from Charleston Fab Lab all the way from South Carolina. It will take place on Thursday 24 November at 5.30pm GMT. Tickets and more information here.
All our events are recorded and can be found on our Youtube channel. Some of the highlights this year include a conversation with our friends in Almere where the first Wikihouse neighbourhood in the world is being built, chatting to Piyush who is building beautiful spaces using WikiHouse here in the UK, and hearing from Jenn, Lachlan and Amber working on their separate projects using Skylark.
Do you have any ideas for events in 2023? Are you perhaps working with WikiHouse and want to show your work? Everyone is welcome - let us know your suggestions here.
WikiHouse in Spanish
We had a brilliant event with Universidad de la Frontera in Chile earlier this week. They are doing really interesting work with WikiHouse Skylark and it was great to hear about the system being used on the other side of the world, their plans for testing in 2023 and the prototypes they are building!
You can watch a recording here.
Reminder- WikiHouse course in Cornwall
If you are in or near Cornwall, our friends at CNCcraft are running a 1 day in-person introduction to WikiHouse next week. For more info check out their website and contact Aaron to book a place: https://www.cnccraft.co.uk/maker-homes-project/
WikiHouse Almere in Klein Wonen Magazine
Vincent Muller was recently interviewed and you can read his reflections on WikiHouse in the Netherlands in the article here (in Dutch).
Feature in Nature
Finally, we got a mention in this article in Nature on sustainable construction and the circular economy.
