Week notes #5
[These weeknotes started in late 2021 in the lead up to the release of WikiHouse Skylark, as a weekly update for our WikiHouse Slack community. Follow the link to find out more about the community and how to join.]
On this week’s update…
We’ve been working hard to expand the library of blocks and give designers as much flexibility as possible within this early version of Skylark. This includes creating models and cutting file sets for a gable pitched roof system and a range of different window/door openings. We are adding them to the library now and they will form part of the first set of blocks released with the website launch.
We are also working on creating an animated assembly sequence of a digital building model being constructed from Skylark blocks. We hope to embed it within the new website to help illustrate the simplicity of building with Skylark.
Thanks for the feedback on the website screenshots I shared last week! We will be looking for volunteers to help us test different things in January…watch this space if you want to get involved.
Which means…...we are on track to launch Skylark in February 2022!
You heard it here first.
Finally we're so excited to see this picture! That’s 5.4m beams and 1.2-2.4m lintel blocks arriving at the University of Edinburgh to undergo structural tests in the next few weeks.
Have a good weekend!
