Week notes #50
Hi all! The week has flown by and we have finally (after some unexpected delays) published the new Skylark library on our website. With nearly 200 different blocks (and pages for each block), putting this updated library together had us working all hours of the day, but we are so glad to finally be able to share it with you. Please note that while detailed models and design kits for Skylark 0.2 are now available, we are still working on the cutting files. We will let you know as soon as they are live
Please check it out and let us know what you think, including anything that doesn't work. We had some useful feedback over the weekend so expect some improvements in the next few days.
Our Engineering Guide was also revamped and is now live. Gabriele has done such a good job re-writing it in plain English, clearly explaining WikiHouse from a structural point of view. I think it’s worth a read even if you don’t speak engineering!
Finally, we are delighted to let you know that the WikiHouse team grew this week with the addition of Amber, who is our new projects lead. We will introduce her to you in due course.
ICYMI-
Check out the work of Evin Jarrett, teaching the Building Trades Program to schoolchildren in Philadelphia. This is a video of 4th grade students working on a WikiHouse Wren model.
This reel by Kathleen in Canada is so satisfying to watch - Skylark modelling joy!
And of course, if you haven’t already, give our friends at Charleston Fab Lab a follow on Instagram. Some major WikiHouse work happening over there at amazing speed and all documented over on their Instagram.
