Week notes #58
In case you missed it
For our latest community event last week we were were joined by #WikiHouse manufacturer Digital Woodoo CIC, a community interest company based in the north of England. Nicola MacPhail and I talked about their work with rural communities in Cumbria, as well as using WikiHouse to illustrate the idea of mass customisable community housing - housing that is both community-led and also provides higher predictability and lower project risk. Intrigued? Watch it + get in touch with Nicola:
They also have an online WikiHouse workshop coming up in June. More details: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/learn-about-wikihouse-workshop-registration-600888552837
Low Carbon Learning: Next Gen
Brilliant to see WikiHouse Skylark introduced to school children in Scotland by the fab Built Environment - Smarter Transformation - they’ve been travelling all the way up to Shetland working with schools to talk about Retrofit, Passivhaus, Digital Construction and MMC.
Netherlands meet up
In the Netherlands? WikiHouseNL is having a meet-up on 30 June. All details (in Dutch) here: https://wikihousenl.cc/event/meetup/
Resources for engineers
And finally - Gabriele, WikiHouse Engineering Lead, is currently developing more resources for structural engineers who wish to work with Skylark - he has added videos to this playlist and also updated the WikiHouse Guide for structural engineers. If you are a structural engineer, particularly if you are new to WikiHouse and are interested in working with the system, please give us a shout - we are creating more resources and would love your input.
